Charnwood ALMO

Yesterday, Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing, the local Police Beat team and residents of Shepshed continued their fight against anti social behaviour at Brook Street.

A warrant for eviction was executed on a single man who held a tenancy at Brook Street and who had been one of the main perpetrators of anti-social behaviour in the area.
Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing Director of Operations, Isobel Rickard said, “This latest eviction is part of our determined effort to work with residents in the area to address their concerns. Decisions to remove someone from their home are never taken lightly however there are some occasions, when we have tried everything else, when we must put the needs of the community first”.

Wendy Brown, ASB co-ordinator for the Borough of Charnwood said, “The continued multi agency response delivered in the Brook Street locality provides a powerful example of how agencies can work together to effect positive change in local communities. Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing, the Council’s Anti Social Behaviour Team and Shepshed Police Beat Officers continue to work closely to respond to concerns raised by local residents.
Citizen focus Sergeant Paul Kear said, “Those who can’t behave themselves and ruin the quality of other people’s lives must be assured that we know who they are and that their tenancy is seriously at risk.”

All incidences of anti-social behaviour can be reported to Charnwood Borough Council on 01509 634567 or Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing on 01509 634666.
