What Being a Board Member Will Involve
Being a member of the CNH Board of Directors will present you with the opportunity to have a direct involvement in the way we deliver services and change people's lives for the better.
All Board members share responsiblity for the management board decisions.
Each board member should only act in the interests of Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing and not on behalf of any one area or group of tenants, leaseholders or others.
Here is a list of things board members can be involved in. We know that not everyone has skills and experience in all these areas but with 15 board members we can cover all areas:
- Act in the capacity of a director under the Companies Act
- Participate in setting, implementing and monitoring Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing aims and values
- Ensure that decisions taken by the board are in the best interests of Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing and that it's legal and moral responsibilities are met
- Approve budgets and challenge financial information about Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing business to make sure that resources are being used wisely
- Monitor Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing performance
- Evaluate potential risks and make sure Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing has measures in place to manage the risks in the most effective way
- Work as part of a team at all times
