Maintaining and Servicing Gas Appliances

We will:

In partnership with our Gas Maintenance Contractors, take all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of residents and public.

  • Ensure that our operatives are neat and tidy, act courteously and always wear and show identification badges
  • Take all possible precautions to ensure that the minimum of inconvenience is caused by obstruction, dust, noise and similar disturbances, we will use dust sheets whenever we work in your home
  • Complete or arrange access for work within its given category:

Emergency Within 4 hours
Right to Repair Within 24 hours
Urgent 5 working days
Routine 20 working days

  • Carry out an annual Safety Inspection and Service on all gas appliances
  • Write to offer you an appointment time to carry out a service at least 28 working days in advance
  • Remind you of the service appointment by sending an access arrangement card to you at least 2 working days before the service is due. If our proposed date and time is not convenient we will make an appointment with you to carry out the works
  • Give you a maximum of 7 working days to contact us to rearrange the service where we have not been able to gain access to your home to do the service
  • Send you a final reminder letter and make attempts to contact you to arrange a further appointment to have this service done if we cannot gain access
  • Take legal action against your tenancy to ensure that we gain access to do the service if you fail to respond to all attempts made by us to access your property
  • Carry out all work in a caring and efficient manner, so that the work causes you the absolute minimum of inconvenience
  • Leave your home in a clean and safe condition, clearing away all rubbish and tidying up when the work is completed
  • Ensure that when we are working in your home, at the end of each day, we will leave you with heating, running hot and cold water, and adequate toilet facilities. Where we cannot do this we will provide you with a minimum of 2 electric heaters and provide you with a temporary heating allowance of £10 per day to cover any additional cost during the period where your heating/hot water is inoperable
