There are 15 Courts in the Borough, 6 of which have a Resident Warden. The Courts provide self-contained accommodation and encourage independent living.
All of the flats within the schemes are fitted with a Warden Call System linked to our Central Control. Central Control is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will assist tenants in an emergency.
Tenants are visited on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and are also contacted via the intercom on Tuesday and Thursday by the scheme warden. (If a tenant is unwell, the warden will visit more often). Tenants are also contacted once at the weekend via the intercom by an on-call warden. 'At risk' tenants are contacted via the intercom on both Saturday and Sunday.
The warden monitors the well-being of each tenant and will contact the necessary organisation if any further support is needed to help with day to day living.
The wardens work from 9am - 5pm on Monday to Thursday, and from 9am to 4:30pm on Friday. An on-call warden is available for emergencies out of office hours if the Control Centre is unable to contact a member of the family.
All schemes have a communal lounge where social activities are arranged by the tenants.

Am I Eligible for Sheltered Accommodation?
Sheltered Housing is available to elderly (60+) and disabled or vulnerable people who need support to enable them to live independently. The service is funded and organised through Supporting People (Leicestershire County Council) and a charge is made by them for the Warden Service provided, in addition to the rent.
