Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing is managed by a Board of voluntary non-executive Directors, which is made up of 5 tenant and leaseholder representatives, 5 nominated Charnwood Borough Council representatives, and 5 appointed independent members.


Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing Ltd Board Membership

Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing Limited is an arms length housing company established by Charnwood Borough Council to manage, maintain and improve its housing stock. The Company is managed by a Board of Non-Executive Directors, which is made up of the following:

Tenant and Leaseholder Representatives

Five tenant Representatives. Tenant representatives are selected onto the Board through an Tenant Selection Process.

Independent Members

Five Independent Members, who have a local connection to Charnwood, skills or expertise within Local Government or the private sector at a senior level in any of the following areas: Business Management, Finance, Legal, Human Resources and/or Training, Housing Management, Building and Contracting, Public Relations, Marketing, Community Work. Independent Members are recruited via advertising in the local Press and on the Company Website.

Council Representatives

Five Council Representatives nominated by Charnwood Borough Council. Council Representatives are nominated annually at the Council’s Annual General Meeting.

The role of Board Member is undertaken on a voluntary basis, although out of pocket expenses are paid. Membership on the Board presents a significant opportunity to serve the local community, and to contribute to the regeneration of Charnwood Borough.

The day to day running of the Company is delegated to a Senior Management Team headed by a Chief Executive. Membership of the Senior Management Team includes the Chief Executive, the Director of Housing Operations, and the Director of Investment and Regeneration.
